Born from Experience. Built with Love.
OUR STORYMeet the Hearts of Our Mission
Founded in 2024 by Hanna, Zelda, and Johanna, Sarah’s Embrace is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Jewish single mothers as they navigate the transition to becoming sole providers.
As single mothers ourselves, we understand the challenges of balancing motherhood, financial responsibility, and personal growth. We created Sarah’s Embrace to provide the community, guidance, and support we wished we had.
Through a growing network of professionals across legal, financial, childcare, business, and personal development, we connect mothers with practical resources and meaningful support to help them rebuild with confidence.
Above all, we are building a sisterhood where women feel seen, supported, and empowered — because no woman should have to face this journey alone.
Our Mission
To provide Jewish single mothers with community, emotional support, practical resources and meaningful experiences that help them rebuild, grow and flourish.
Our Vision
A world where no Jewish single mother feels isolated or unsupported as she creates the next chapter of her life.
Who Is Behind the Embrace?
Hanna Mellul
Hanna Mellul, a dedicated single mother of five, brings both personal experience and professional expertise to her role at Sarah's Embrace.
As a full-time forensic scientist and a part-time Emotion Code/Energy healing practitioner, Hanna is driven by her aspiration to help single mothers facing similar struggles as she once did.
Her vision for the organization is to empower these mothers to trust in their journey of growth, discover their innate strengths, and achieve their fullest potential.
Through Sarah's Embrace, Hanna seeks to create a nurturing space where women can overcome challenges, set meaningful goals, and build the confidence needed to thrive, both personally and professionally.
Zelda Brodowicz
I am a mother of four and have been a single mother and sole provider for my family for over 14 years.
I know firsthand the strength, resilience, and courage it takes to raise children, provide for a family, and rebuild a life with faith and purpose.
With a background in entrepreneurship, mentorship, and personal development, I’ve learned to turn life’s challenges into opportunities for growth. My mission is to share those lessons with other single mothers, offering strength and guidance through the difficult seasons of their own journeys.
I believe deeply in the power of community and healing. Through Sarah’s Embrace, I am committed to creating a place where every Jewish single mother feels seen, supported, empowered, and reminded of the strength she already carries within her.
Johanna Ouanouna
Johanna Ouanouna spent seven years as a single mother to a beautiful boy with special needs, before recently remarrying.
In her role as the manager of a wig salon, she honed her skills as a multitasker while learning to navigate the complexities of raising a child who requires specialized care.
Her journey has shaped her into a resilient, self-reliant woman, deeply attuned to the challenges single mothers face.
Driven by her personal experience, Johanna is passionate about empowering other women, encouraging them to embrace their strength and independence, particularly when caring for children who need extra attention and support.
At Sarah’s Embrace, Johanna aspires to empower other Jewish women, offering them the guidance and support needed to navigate the complexities of raising children with special needs.
What We Believe
No woman should have to do this alone.
Healing happens in community.
Support should care for the whole woman.
Single motherhood is a chapter — not the end of her story.
Every woman deserves the opportunity to create a beautiful life.
Always Remember…
“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know.”
— Christopher Robin
There Is Strength in Community
At Sarah’s Embrace, we believe in the power of collective strength and the value of each woman’s unique experiences. Through mentorship and mutual aid, we aim to build a resilient, supportive network that empowers Jewish single mothers to thrive, both as individuals and as mothers.
